Hi - I'm not sure what you mean by 'crinkle finish'? I just did mine - and it was quite easy. I just completely removed the old stickers with a razor blade and lots of rubbing/wiping with a clean rag + "Goo-Gone" - a product specifically for removing old sticky stuff. My new "WESTFALIA" decals came on large pieces of masking tape - I just removed the backing from the letters + put the tape down, then rubbed well + removed the tape.
