I have lived with the 'howl' in my rear brakes for too long. I've already tried new shoes and drums. As I was installing the shoes, I noticed the backing plates were WAY rusty , i.e. build-up of thick, flaky rust, and were not able to fit securely against the trailing arms any longer. (this van lived most of it's life in Nova Scotia) So, I am wondering if there are any vendors, beside ye old dealer, that can supply these? TBD doesn't list em. Any ideas? OR, does someone have a really clean and rustfree used pair? I really hate to spend my $ at the dealer window! Karl |
