Subject: Replacing rear brake shoes
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"

I just checked the archives but couldn't find the answer to my question. It is:

Can the rear brake shoes be replaced without removing the axle hub (with its 359 lbft)?

I just took off the drum and it looks really tight to get everything off (and back on) without removing the hub. I don't have the tools (or the strength) to do the hub. If it has to come off, I guess I'll have to have a mechanic do it.
