For a short time, a new employee was cutting the seals a little short, unbeknownst to me, which is probably why yours was a few inches short. After that happened, I switched to a longer template, figuring that it was better to err on the side of too-long then too-short. That's why yours was a few inches too long. Most of the ones we ship are slightly on the long side now; you can always trim it to size with a pair of scissors once you install it.
