Subject: Front Hub Bearing Removal 2
Content-type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII"

Well, I just moved my van from the street and broke the hub right off. It just broke off just before the dust cap and now I think it was a bit easier to take the hub off :)

Now I need to figure out what to do. It was the outer bearing that went bad and I'm not sure what it should look like on the tapered arm (I don't have my bentley with me right now) that the hub attaches to.

The inner is fine...the bearings roll smoothly and all surfaces are smooth. The outer part has a section where it looks like it might have been worn through on the tapered arm...do I need to replace this?

If you are having a hard time getting a picture of this, I don't blame you. It's hard for me to describe. I can send a JPEG tomorrow when I go back.

If you know what I'm talking about, advice would help! I'll study my big green book tonight and go back out tomorrow trying to figure it all out.

Thanks! Aaron
