Friends,

Does anyone know if vanagons (mines '87) suffer
from "ice-over"? This happens in air cooled (at
least to my bug) engines when it''s cold
outside, ice forms on the manifold and carb,
choking it. Last night driving home in the snow
storm (SLC,Utah) I found my pedal had almost no
guts behind it, and it got worse as I went, to
the point that by the time I got to provo, (45
miles) I stalled 3 times at stop lights. While I
was driving, it wouldn't let me have anymore
power. I'd push on the accelorator and it would
seem to  "de-cellerate". Could this be ice-over,
or is it a fuel line/filter problem. Info: I
often have hesitation off the line in first and
second that goes away after 2500 RPM. and, I had
just put some techron and filled up hours
earlier last night.

any info would be helpful. this is the first
time the vanagon has ever stalled or had this
severe of an acceleration problem.
