About 7 years ago I was driving my Jetta on a double lane state highway that wound through mountains here in Utah. It was a sunday Morning and not a car in either direction for miles. I was driving in the passing lane (I am a former "asshole", I blame this on the Jetta), a Highway Patrol pulled out of his speed trap and gave me a warning ticket for driving in the left lane. I questioned this given that he probably hadn't seen any cars for 30 min. in either direction. He got all tough guy on me so I took my warning and wiped my #$% with it. I did not then and still don't hang out in the passing lane, now mostly because I can't. The point is; it's against the law in Utah to stay in the passing lane, it is even MORE against the law if a cop is bored. Leif Paulsen '86 Syncro "Thor" |
