For those of you still waiting on my 2.0 L conversion update...patience, as I'm still waiting for the job to be finished. Now, to all who've been posting recently about the "Eurospec" conversion (5 cly'ers please refer to Detlev) let me share some info w/you. First, go and visit the www.vanagongti.com Eurospec page. Look at what they offer for their price. Then go to David Marshall's www.fastforward.ca page. Look at what he offers. If you've got time even call him, I had a number of pleasant conversations w/him and learned a lot. After this you'll discover the bottom line: the conversion uses almost exclusively stock diesel parts, diesel vanagon owners have been doing this conversion in their vans for years, and when you finish doing the math, you should able to have a 2.0 L engine installed by a pro for near $3,000. This is awfully close, maybe cheaper than doing a new water-boxer, and bye, bye head leaks. I know I make it sound too easy, but it's really not too hard. Once again I apologize that it's taking so long, but I will post all the specifics on my conversion as soon as the work is done, in the meantime p-mail me with q's. Have a great weekend everyone.

Mark Drovdahl '88 Westy (soon to be half '98 Jetta 2.0 L)
