I know this applies to other cars so probably applies to our Vanagons; when torqueing the control arm make sure the van is properly loaded. Easiest way is to put the wheel back on, pile a bunch of people in the van, then torque to spec. This puts the right squishes in the bushing for proper life expectancy.
