Hi!

Well, after driving and liking my '86 Westfalia the past year I've been looking for a passenger version and wound up picking up an '86 Syncro passenger van (7seats) last friday. I suspect my neighbors think I've lost it now that I have two same year, same color, same interior vehicles in the driveway.

After driving it a bit this weekend I realized that my seat is lower in the Syncro than it is in the Conastoga. I'm fairly tall and would like to get the seat height up higher. Is it safe to raise the tracks that seat is mounted on or would I be better off mounting a seat swivel to give it a bit more height?

The headlights are brighter on the syncro than they are on the Westfalia. In fact they're almost acceptable. Is there a difference that I'm not picking up on? I haven't had a chance to look at the bulbs on the Syncro to see if they're different.

Flipping through the Syncro manual, it shows an air intake tube that you fiddle with before water crossings by the access panel next to the oil filler and dipstick. But I don't have one. Should it be there?

Thanks -- Rich Durant
