My westy's PO had put new Michelin tires on my van last July. I bought it in September. In response to a tire-related post, several listmembers informed me last November that I had the wrong tires on my vehicle. I was assured by the previous owner that he had gotten the correct tires for the van. I went to Michelin's web site and sent in an email to their customer service department. They called me at work that day. They gave me a list of local Michelin dealers. I went to one that day. I had the dealer check out the wear of the tires and then had him call Michelin at the number they gave me earlier. Michelin authorized an immediate 50% credit on 4 new tires and arranged to have the proper ones sent to that dealer. He installed them a few days later.

Considering that I didn't buy the original tires and that they had several thousand miles on them, I was very pleased with the way Michelin stood by their tires.

Moral of this story - if your dealer can't/won't help you, maybe the manufacturor will.
