A few months back somebody mentioned that we need some general how-to's on the vanagon.com URL. What ever happened to that proposal? There are a lot of repetitive questions that pop up here that a simple how-to could answer. I see that we will 1) need someone to put the files on Gerry 2) someone to write the how-to's 3) someone to write the web pages. I will take a share and author some web pages but I don't feel sufficient to write any how-to's. I know there are how-to's in www-land that we should link from Gerry. My quick brain storm on some handy HOW-TO's: Brake jobs (front x2, rear and hand brake) Testing the VC Fuel Lines Fridge Fixes Ignition trouble shooting Clunks up-front Poor handling Noisy passengers Brake lines Master Cylinder Radio Aux. gauges Rims and wheels (NOT TIRES) Adjusting your sliding door Where is you paint code? How to smuggle wine and Cigarettes into Canada? Where to rent Westys Aux. battery madness Engine Conversions Starter woes Which type of oil? Racks Leaky fuel tank when filling Westy Friendly shops (I know there is a partial listing) Wrecking yard locations Fuel filter & pump Floppy rear view mirrors Bad Light switches Extra Seats in your Bus Pop top stuff -seal -mold -racks yadda yadda yadda. I think that most of this stuff can be obtained by frisking Gerry. Any takers? If you are going to frisk her, the best bet is to use email ( send email to listserv@gerry.vanagon.com with body being: search WHATEVER in vanagon) for searching. Any takers? Striving to make this place a better volks world Matthew 84 wolfys |
