Hello, I am currently about to start my 1.6TD conversion. I have located a parts car with a motor. So far here's the list of what I have to do: Make driver's side engine mount Have a custom exhaust made Swap oil pan from Vanagon diesel motor Get dirty & spend lots of time with it. Is it true that the TD injection pump is larger, and you have to clearance your decklid somewhat? I am have people say it fits, and others that it doesn't. Perhaps someone can verify this for me. Also, how strong is the tranny in my van (82 Vanagon Diesel)? Will it hold up ok to the TD motor in the long run? I guess it will, as the 2.1l gas motors have more power. Also does anyone have any pictures of the TD motor in their van? I'd be ineterested to see how they did the exhaust and motor mount. Jay |
