Hi Everybody: I just used a paint improvement product made by "Mothers" and I have 2 things to say about it: 1: It does work well, and does what it says it'll do; 2: $22.00 at Canadian Tire flaps for essentially plasticene and "cinamon water" is a lot of money! The product works as follow: 1. Spray said fluid (called "lubricant") on body of vehicle. 2. Rub said "California Gold Clay" back and forth across wetted area. (hmmmm) 3. Hear, see and feel contaminants being lifted from surface of paint. 3. fold clay, move to another body area and resume procedure. Well, it does work, and paint is not at all damaged during process. It also improved "appearance" of seam rust, by removing oxides from surface. (I know it will not remove or prevent rust etc) So, the point of this story is as follows: If you want to remove surface contaminants ("rail dust" or tree sap etc) buy a piece of plasticene, use a very dilute sol'n of vinegar in a spray botle as a lubricant, follow the above procedure, and save yourself 22 Canadian Bucks. Remember to wax afterwards! IMHO. Marshall Ruskin 84 Westy "Iron Igloo" Founding Member of "Vanagon's Anonymous" |
