To trace down where you lost the wire, what you can do is buy one of those volt-ometers that are battery powered, and send current along the wires. That will result in a static sound when you have the correct wire for each speaker... i.e. when you locate the + & - of one speaker, static will come out of it. This can narrow down which speaker is missing it's wire.

Other options - run all new wire, pay someone to run all new wire for you.....
