Buy a copy of the Bentley VW repair manual, covers all vanagons. Available from your dealer or some of the list vendors. Bus depot also has the Haynes manual which has a maintenance section for a lot less then the bently - less detail also, especially for westies.

I have them both, fall asleep reading them 2 - 3 times a week.
