Subject: California salvageyards--BW Dismantlers update
Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCII

From Dec '98 archives: > Add: 'BW Dismantlers', Roseville CA (near Sacramento); 800/327-0888 > (vwdism@aol.com). All (&only) VW's, including at the moment ~20 Breadloafs > & Vanagons. I've never been there, but bought a few parts by phone - never > any problems, always happy with the results. > > Austin -------------------------------------------------------------------- An update.

B W Auto Dismantlers, Inc "New, Used, Rebuilt Parts, for Volkswagon & Audi Vehicles" 2031 PFE Road Roseville, Ca 95747 (near Sacratomato, in far, far west Maine) 800-327-0888 916-969-1600

Counted 52 Vanagons (with lots of used shocks) plus about 30 busses there today, including about 20 westies. Plus intriguing collection of ghias, Audis, etc. Two vanagons arrived very recently, including a westy. Still testing the theory that a westy mirror is longer. Many parts that people have been looking for were there today.

The walking VW encyclopedia, Dee Buchanan, lost his battle with lung cancer three weeks ago. His wife, son Jeff, and Jeff's grandpa are continuing the business with an interesting cast of dismantling characters. Emotionally tough times.

Jeff is young, eager, bright and is very interested in helping vanagon.com people. He ships to anywhere. Puerto Rico yesterday. A web site is in the future, e-mail is up but not well monitored, so phone is the best communication. Tell Jeff you are a vanagon.com person and he should be even more responsive. If there is something I can help with, let me know (other than price..they value their parts).

(Found Austin's note in the archives. Is there anything of value the archives don't already include? Even bumper stickers. List people have really been busy sharing!)

Regards, Tom Neal '87 syncro, with many parts from BW.
