I prefer the front table over the rear table. The front table stows quite nicely behind the drivers seat. With the arm turned in behind the drivers seat, I use it to brace the table against the sink cabinet. This keeps it from moving, and is out of the way. The rear table, when installed, always seems to be in the way, and I can never seem to get it to stop moving, and bumping into the side of the van while driving.

As a side note, I work for a furniture company, and we machine 3/4" & 1" laminated particleboard into worksurfaces. If enough people had a desire, I could probably make new tables. I actually could make any shape people wanted. Of course, I wouldn't make all different sizes, but if people thought there was a better size, I could probably run a bunch of that shape. We also put a very similar t-mold edging on it, to finish the edges. However, it probably wouldn't be an exact color match to the westy grey. I don't have any of the hardware, I'm only proposing the table tops. I don't know what the cost would be yet, but if anyone's interested I'll pursue it more.

In looking at quite a few Westies over the last couple of years, and finally settling on one recently, I noticed that most (all but one or two) seemed to be missing the front table, arm, and bracket. Naturally, since I am "missing" something on my "new" Syncro Westy, I want to replace it, but with all the evidence of missing tables, I find myself wondering why...

How many of you Westy owners have purposefully removed your front table, and why? Is it because there is usually only two of you camping? (I have young kids) Is it because it interferes with the driver's seat while folded (it folds behind the driver's seat, right?).

Just curious...
