Yeah, it was Friday, and the tongue was in cheek. But, my mistake, what I thought was the speed rating is acutally a capital letter "I" in a circle, near the rating. Don't know what that means (maybe like the eye in the pyramid on the dollar bill?) I wasn't looking that hard anyway (and the Axioms are an "S" rated tire).

But, explanation complete, I gotta wonder; if a tire is rated at 186 mph, does that mean it disentegrates when it attains that speed? Or you can do 186 mph without worries (of tickets either)?

Oh yeah, before we put them on the van the manager called the distributor and asked if the Axiom would work on a two ton sled. Answer was yes. While Dunlop calls the Axiom a passenger car tire, it can work on the Vanagon without any problems. This from the mouths of professionals who do nothing but sell and install tires all day for a living.
