If you look at the "SET" options for list subscription that allows you to turn html on or off according to your preference. I have tried it both ways and it really works. See the List FAQ for instructions.

However, there doesn't seem to be a way to keep it out of the digests, and if you are subscribed to "Digest Mode" you may be out of luck. For that reason, I *try* to avoid using html or rich text when I post to the list - its probably a good idea for everyone.

I suppose in these modern times it's hopeless to expect not to have to scroll thru endless repetitious HTML posts on the digest? Can't that option be turned off, and wouldn't it be considerate to do so? I can't imagine that having one's mail daintily formatted is worth imposing on one's fellow listees...
