Subject: Speaker Removal
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII"

After successfully installing a new AM/FM/CD player in my 84 Westy, my next project will be to upgrade the speakers.

The rear speakers (Blaupunkt 15w, stock?) in the overhead AC unit appear to be held in place by four plastic tabs spaced at 90 degree intervals that expand once the speaker has been pushed through the opening and then hold the speaker in placeby a press fit. The speakers rotate freely about their axis but even by sqeezing these plastic tabs I could not easily pull them out.

How do I get them out without cutting plastic or otherwise mangling or damaging them?

Likewise how do the front speakers attach to the door panels? Mind you I haven't pulled the panels yet but want to be prepared when I do.

Thanks for your help,

Tony
