I've noticed a significant improvement in diving and rebounding behavior over bumps, but the ride is still pretty harsh. I'm going to experiment with lowering the tire pressure a bit when the van isn't loaded. Right now they're at the door-sticker recommended 38F, 49R.

I shopped around and got the shocks for $69.95 each plus $15 shipping for the set from ADI (Anderson & Stiehle) in El Cajon, CA. However, I think I overpaid for the installation at my local mechanic--I got charged 2 hours labor, but this probably evens out with some of the previous troubleshooting that I've gotten for less than shop rate, so I didn't raise a stink. It's comforting to know the job was done perfectly and didn't cost me the usual blood sacrifice when I get under the car.
