That is quite an interesting question you ask, I seem to remember reading something somewhere about Porsche using Porsche-powered (what else?) D'cabs as service vehicles for their 959 racers. I also have an image of one of them in my head, but I cant recall where I've seen it though. Shame, isnt it?
