I have had a lot of luck using copper house (AC) wire to establish a wire path through all sorts of nooks and and crannies in my 84 Westy. After I get the copper "fish" wire from point "A" to point "B", I tie the wire I wish to run to the "fish" wire and pull her through.

I did not have any trouble making the bend down the front windshield pillar using this method but had a bit of difficulty getting the wire out of the pillar under the dash. Small hands help. I seem to recall some kind of bulkhead or metal reinforcement at the top of the door window frame that necessitated us pulling down the front headliner to better snake the wire through. This also gave a shorter run for the dive down the windshield pillar under the dash.

I'll take a look at my 87 Syncro tomorrow and see if I get any insights as I realize it must be a bit of a different setup than an 84 Westy! I'll let you know if any light bulbs go off.

Feel free to let me know if I can be of any help. I'll be off line a few days but will get back to you eventually.

Good luck and best wishes,

Tony
