David, My 82 has a later camper conversion in it ('88 interior, '82 van) the faucet knob has a screw through the top. Un screw the philips head screw and check the electrical contacts in the knob. Be careful when you pull the knob though, there is a little black wire that s needed to make the contact.

You might find that the contacts are corroded. To fix this, use a stiff pencil eraser to clean the green stuff off of the contacts.
