Well,

I have heard many anti-Eurovan Winnebago comments from Vanagon Westfalia owners. However, I see that your BBQ Vanagon is a GL, and therefore I wonder about the relevance of these camper comparisons. You also don't have to apologize for non-vanagon content since the list charter includes Eurovans as acceptable discussion -- just as long as no one asks what tires to use! :-)

I personally would love a 99 Eurovan MV to replace my 90 Carat. I think it would be great to have the unique MV seating arrangement in a vehicle with presumably a more reliable and powerful drivetrain. However, there are a few things I would miss: the Vanagon cab-over design, the short wheelbase, the manual transmission, and about $30k!!! If they would offer the big TDI and a 5 spd. over here, I would try to find the money. However, it appears that Daimler-Chrysler will probably end up selling a TDI Grand Caravan in the USA even before VW! Talk about lost opportunity for VW!

Anybody with a Eurovan passenger version want to compare to a Vanagon passenger version?

Michael Townsend
