I cant really see how the word "volks" can be protected. Of course, the word is german, and what it means is "Folks, Peoples, human beeings" In addition, the correct German way to pronounce it is just "folks". So why dont you call it "folks.relitech.com" or maybe "folkswagon.relitech.com"? It is clearly resmbling to VW, but it is not even the same word, and they can probably not sue you for it. Maybe the best of all would be to gather many different alternatives, and ask VWoA for opinions.... That way you ask them first, and have a "legal" name to use.
