I had a problem like this with the fire dept. I was unfortunate enough
to be parked at a diner next to a car that caught fire. The fire dept
sprayed some kind of powder which oversprayed onto my car.
It was almost impossible to clean off, and 12 months after this
happened, all of the paint on the affected part of my car started to
peel off.
