I have not been following this string, but have a vague suggestion. I saw on automotive week's weekly show that featured a product used to disinfect air ducts in cars. It is in an aerosol can and is sprayed into the system and expands into a foam that fills the air system and then evaporates. Can't tell you where to find it though.

Mold only grows when there is moisture. Even if you disinfect the air ducts, you still need to correct the conditions that caused it to grow in the first place or it most likely will happen again. Perhaps there is a leak into the system or a drain hole is plugged?

How about bleach in water? This is great for mold normally. I don't know if it would discolor the ducts though. Ken Wilford Van-Again John 3:16
