Dear Malcolm,

Awesome vehicle -- we in north America are mighty jealous! (though there are quite a few of us who prefer the quirkiness of the Vanagon). As far as I know, the Syncro Eurovan was never imported to North America.

NOTE: you are right: the Eurovan is not designed for off-road use -- the wheelbase is too long. But AWD will help in rain/snow and also in dry-road handling.
