After another listmember asked me about the AC (that's "air conditioning", not "air cooled") relays, I finally got around to ripping most of the AC system apart. Please, don't tell me I shouldn't do it or flame me for releasing freon. It's too late for all that and be content that this van will not be releasing any more freon ever again.

Basically, the compressor seals blew one day about 1.5 years ago and we've decided we can live without AC here in the Northeast, so rather than spending $1000s (yes, I've been through this gauntlet before), I decided to rip all that crap out and offer to the community at large. I'm making storage out of the space left behind and already have a cool shelf up front. The rear section will follow, perhaps once I've gotten all the crud out of there and decided what speakers will go in there.

So see the web link above and let me know if you need any of those parts. I'm not too keen on shipping the big stuff. I'll be at Carlisle May 14-16 and Transporters by the Tunnel in July.

BTW, even if you're not interested in the parts, you might want to take a look at the pics to get an idea of what the parts of that system look like, including the inside of the rear housing for those of you doing speaker replacements.

Now, if I could only find the person from Houston (Steve was his name, I think) who was at Busses by the Arch last year that built a bracket for mounting a window unit AC in the driver's window for use while parked... If you're out there, I'd like to buy one of those brackets.

Regards,
