Volks, I had a shop replace a torn steering arm boot near the left front wheel on my 90 Westy Syncro yesterday. When I got it home I looked under at the work. I'm concerned because instead of using the stock steel spring clamps (or maybe they crimp on?), they used screw clamps. The larger one looks to be a high quality stainless steel with flared edges... the smaller one I'm not so sure... seems like an awfully small screw... 1/8 inch diameter maybe . Anyway, do you think these will hold up or do you think I should take the van back to have the clamps changed to stock ones? Thanks for your advice. Bill 90 Westy Syncro |
