While I didn't say so in my previous post (Monday brain lock, I suppose), I can ONLY start my fridge on gas (with no preheating) on it's lowest setting. After a half hour or so, I'm able to turn the fridge to it's highest setting with no worries. If I try and use the manual's recommendations of mid way on the gas flow dial, I'm doomed to failure (and warm milk). I've recommended this technique to others and they've had similar successes after years of frustration. Jack |
