Yes their is something wrong, the fridge should be performing much better then you describe. I'm not sure what work the PO had done to my unit but it lights first try and has to be turned down so as to not freeze everything I put into it. In the heat of summer I can make ice those little trays that came with it. Don't accept it being a wimpy fridge have it looked at, when working properly it's an amazing little unit.
