Good Morning Listers,

For the last two days I have been driving my Syncro Westfalia to the office (150mi round trip) due to bad weather conditions. I have been driving through several inches of slush, at fairly high speed, and have encountered a problem with the engine cutting out.

After a period of decelleration (like down a long hill), the engine is not running. I put in the clutch, and the engine is dead. It will restart immediately, but has no power at all unless under full throttle. If I wait for three or four minutes, then restart the Syncro, everything is fine until the next long downhill stretch. This problem is most similar to a problem I used to have on my 914 when the carburators would freeze up on wet days.

I have performed the wiring harness upgrade on the airflow sensor, and have no problems at the present time. Anybody have any ideas???

Thanks, Jon B Kanas
