Subject:      Bentley Dometic fridge air pump mod - anybody tried it?

With the recent talk on the list about hard-to-start westy Dometic fridges,
I was wondering if anybody on this list has done the fridge air supply
modification that is documented in the Bentley manual.  This mod basically
involves beefing up the fridge air pump with some bigger holes, o-rings, a
one-way valve, and tubing in order to increase the air flow output of this
pump.  The steps are described in detail in the Bentley and it was evidently
documented so your normal non-Dometic VW service technicians can address
hard-to-start fridge complaints.

If anyone has tried it, did it help out any?  I can start my fridge if I run
it on battery or electric for a while first before switching over to
propane, but I was wondering if this mod allowed it to start on propane
easily.  It seems like a real easy mod to do except for the fridge
removal/installation steps.  I don't know if its true or not, but I've heard
that those steps can be a pain and not as easy as it looks.
