Hi

I finally have a little time to work on my Vanagon before we head for vacation in about 8 weeks.

My first attempt will be to replace the carpet in the passenger area and rear compartment over the engine. Measuring the total area, I came up with 9.25 x 5.25 feet. Does this sound about right?

What is the best way to buy carpet, as a remnant or from a supplier of Vanagon carpets?

I also need some fasteners for the rear hatch to replace the ones removed to insulate the door. Where can I find these? Are there better ones than the stock ones? I want to put some speakers in the door and do not want the panel to vibrate.

The rear door currently rattles some. Is there an adjustment for this or do I need a new seal?

I also need some curtains temporarily. I like the visibility without them but we need the privacy if we are to use the van for sleeping. Any suggestions for a reasonably priced set that are easy to put up and take down?

Many thanks in advance.
