Subject: camper conversion question
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"

Hi folks. I'm new to the list and don't know if this has been discussed. I'm converting my 84 GL passenger vanagon to a camper with the accessories from a 1987 Westphalia. I'm going to install an auxiliary battery with an isolator. What I wondering is can I eliminate that relay (or switch) under the drivers seat and connect the two 12v power wires to the auxiliary battery instead? I don't know what the relay or switch is for but I'm guessing it's to protect against power surges when the vehicle is started and won't be needed with the auxiliary battery. If I knew what it was it would sure help. Any suggestions on this project will be appreciated.
