My experience was that you must use 3/4" drive socket and bar; I tried 1/2" and broke both a breaker bar, and adaptor. I got the socket at Sears, and lucked out with a bar at Harbor Freight. I use a 3' length of 1" pipe as a torque multiplier, and stand at the end to loosen the nut ( make sure the Van is wedged so it won't roll ) As I recall, the nuts are torqued to 350 ft/lbs or so...good luck!
