Subject:      '90 Westfalia Van Sun Shade Problem.

We had an awning clamped to the small ledge on the side of the van and
it fell off without us realising it. It must have been very dangerous if
it hit following cars, but no-one claimed for damages for this ( we have
a government run car insurance scheme). A second awning also came loose
and this time the part of the ledge that it was attached to came with
it. Now what do we do? Is there another type of awning that can be
attached and is safer? Is it possible to put another strip of metal
along the ledge as re-inforcement and then re-attach the awning?
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
