I have towed many vehicles with these types of tow bars. The vanagon has no good means for support of this unit, unless you are not concerned about the condition of the front bumper. I have reamoved the front bumper, of my Vanagon and drill 1/2" holes thur the under body inserted all thread to support my tow bar. After towing I re- install the front bumper and you can't tell the holes are there.
