Just something to bear in mind...a kilowatt-hour costs ten cents out of the wall, $150 or so in D-alkalines, around $650 in AA, and around $2500 in AAA. Using AA NiCd batteries and assuming lifetime of 200 charge cycles brings it down under $50. I like batteries for calculators and such, but I'm sure wishing for a pocket fuel cell for lights -- preferably one that doesn't run at liquid-sodium temps <g>.
