While participating in the Southern California Ozone Study 97, I used my westfalia as a mobile weather van. Inside I had 2 tanks of helium, a Mobile Rawinsonde System, 2 laptops, a generator and enough weather balloons and sondes for a few weeks. I was a weather tech in the navy and they wanted me to camp out on the beach for a few weeks in their POS Ford pick-up. Forget that, I spent a few weeks getting paid to camp in beautiful Coronado, CA, while putting a balloon up every 6 hours. Was one of the best assignments that I had ever had. Jason M. Yasment |
