1985 Volkswagen Vanagon 2.0 L

Trans: Standard Mileage: 250 miles VIN: WV2YB0250FH049006 Fuel: Bosch AFC Digijet Ignition: Electronic Emissions: Calif

Symptoms: Hesitation, Low power Occurs: Always, Hot

The problem occurs after a short warmup, usually within 3-4 minutes. It seems to be too lean - has no power and a lean backfire thru the intake - adding propane smooths it out and eliminates the backfire but throttle response still seems a bit slughish.

I have check the Coolant temp sensor, it is 190 ohms @ 200 degs, measured with a raytek at the temp sensor, which is in spec. I have listen to all 4 injectors with a stethescope and they sound fine. I have not yet checked fuel pressure or pulse width.

The problem comes on quickly as it warms up, not gradually. It also seemed to come-and-go (sometimes worse than others) during the 15-20 minutes it was idling while checking it.

Any ideas which way to go from here?

Thank you
