If you wire them in parallel, each fan will run on it's nominal speed and will move the nominate ammount of air per minute. If you wire them in series, each fan will run on only half its nominal speed and will only move approximately half (in any case less) the air per minute it would otherwise.

As to current consumption: wiring them in series will reduce (ideally half) current consumption, wiring them in parallel will increase (roughly double) current consumption.
