Subject: Re: How to equalize head volume?
Comments: To: young@SHERLOCK.SIMS.BERKELEY.EDU

Tom; Just take measurements and try to equalize the chambers.I would install some dummy valves to protect the valve seats. I think I understand your dilemma between the OEM heads and the AMC heads. As long as you don't mix them you should be OK. What is the difference between the deck heights? That is, the valve deck to the cylinder contact area. With the OEM heads you would include the head gasket thickness(compressed). By the drawing you make it look like there is extra material. Logically there would have to be to keep the valve train/pushrod geometry the same. Drive Safely & Good Luck Ken Lewis<Kernersville,NC>86 VW crewcab;60 T-5 Coupe
