Hello,

I wouldn't use the Golf/Jetta style copper crush rings on the Vanagon but instead use the smaller OD aluminum ones from VW. I can't swear to it but I seem to remember more pulled case threads with those that used the copper ones vs. the aluminum rings. Probably had something to do with the larger OD putting some additional or incorrect loading on the case sealing surface area, but who really knows?
