the other kid's ins. co etsimator came out and totalled out my car today.. has yet to give me a value, but i know i will lose. their member nearly killed me, and destroyed my car of 11 years.....and they want to give me nothing. all that money ive paid in car insurance premiums over the years...and i get nothing back. insurance companies are nothing but SCAMS. and it doesnt pay to have collision on my car because of it's age - my own ins co would have totalled it too, and given me nothing. its a lose-lose situation. the only thing to do, is sue for pain/suffering. that is the ONLY way you can get decent compensation. here is a few things i have learned... GET YOUR CAR APPRAISED!!!!!! now!!! otherwise you wont get jack squat for it! even if its not a classic....if youve put alot of time and money into your car or van, the insurance company doesnt care. they just look in their NADA or Redbook (worst quotes), and get the value of the car at it's age/mileage. they dont use kelly blue book. If you show them proof that you had it appraised, and its appraised value, then it will help you alot...dont wait - or you may be in the same situation i am in. also - keep all reciepts for acessories, and add ons, like wheels, stereo systems, anything other than general repairs (they will not give you anything for used parts or general repairs). if you have a NEW (key is NEW - not used) engine installed, then keep the reciepts for that, and that will help you too. and.... never...never... NEVER CHOOSE THE LIMITED TORT OPTION!!!!!!! any other hints for dealing with a**hole insurance companies, or your own stories, i'd like to hear them.... chris '84 audi 5k turbo totalled, was nearly killed, myself, and i aint getting SQUAT...but i wont go down without a fight!!!!! |
