Who do you look for to do the appraisal and how much $$$ should it cost?>> I found my appraiser in the Yellow Pages in the Automotive section. I talked to several before finding someone who sounded good and was willing to do it for $50. The appraiser did all the research before he arrived. He had looked into Hemmings and other sources before even looking at my Thing. The guy told me that he is called in to appraise automobiles to settle estates all the time. Quite often the appraisal costs more than the car is worth. I bet these guys run across old VWs all the time. Might be someone you want to get friendly with.
