Shoot - I carry water around in it all the time (usually a couple of gallons) Very handy when you need a quick drink or got your hands dirty while shopping :-) I only put purified water in it (our water here is VERY hard and highly chlorinated), and the way I look at it, it is essentially no different than the 5 gallon jug of the same purified water that I keep in my kitchen for drinking and cooking. (Both the kitchen container and the Westy's get flushed out with baking soda and water at least once a month and bleached a couple of times a year.) > How many listmembers out there actually drink the water from the fresh water tank? I flush mine out every year with a water and bleach solution. However, I am still leary of drinking the water directly from the tank because I don't trust that it doesn't have some debilitating bacteria growing in the system. I just use the water just for coffee and for the dishes. > > > > Paul Banks > '89 Vanagon Westfalia > > Signup for your FREE NLL FAN account at http://www.nllfan.com > |
